Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

History

CFT was founded by Dr. Barry Gillespie in the 1970's. It was a combination of cranial osteopathy, myofascial release and dental release techniques. CFT was founded on the idea of the craniosacral system and fascial system working as one connected system instead of two separate systems. It blends the modalities of cranial sacral therapy and myofascial release in combination with dental techniques. It is a gentle modality which produces therapeutic benefits without the risk of side effects.

Craniosacral System

The craniosacral system experiences subtle motion in response to an inherent motion of expansion and contraction of the brain. A decrease in the motion can indicate decreased function within the body resulting in pain and/or dysfunction.

Fascia

Fascia is the web of connective tissue surrounding all structures in the body and brain. Fascia thickens in response to injury and trauma creating areas of strain. Unreleased fascial strain can cause distortions in structure as well as nerve and circulatory dysfunction. Fascial strain within the craniosacral fascial system decreases the volume and quality of craniosacral motion.

What to expect?

Each session is peeling back a layer of the onion on your fascial strain, it can take multiple sessions to find relief and sometimes people will experience a little bit of a detox after each session as the strain is released.  Depending on the individual some people notice changes right away, some people it takes a few days and others it may take a few sessions. Most people will benefit from 4-5 sessions for optimal benefits and response.

What is the investment?

Based on my experience working with clients I offer packages to new clients, a choice of a 4 or 6 session package. I have found clients respond best to having multiple sessions done in a short period of time initially. Client packages begin at $430. For a full list of packages, please reach out for details.

Appointments are booked in 60, 90 or 120 increments with 5 minutes always accounting to checking in before and after each treatment session. Sessions take place inside Wellness Worx in Flowery Branch, GA. For those within a 20 minute driving radius (from Wellness Worx) in-home sessions are possible but subject to schedule availability.  Full payment for packages is due by the time of the first session.

When new clients inquire, they usually can find space in my schedule within 10 business days, but depending on the season sometimes it may take up to 3 weeks to get scheduled. The online scheduling system only offers booking as far as 2-3 weeks in advance.

**I offer mini-intensives (2 sessions/2 hours in one day) and full intensives (4-6 sessions over 2-3 days) to support optimal release and unwinding. Please book these by connecting directly versus through the online scheduler. Thank you!
